Along with the family property consensus and the divison regime future spouses before the marriage and also present spouses during the marriage can sign a marriage contract.
The marriage contract regularizes only the property aspect of spouses and their life together like:
parties rights over the property that is gained during the marriage;
type of management and control over the property, including the family home;
parties share in expenditures and obligations;
property consequences during divorce;
spouses alimony;
support money for the children from the marriage;
When the future spouses contract a marriage they can specify with notary certified declaration which regime they choose. If they don’t choose such, the regime of Family Property Consensus is accepted.
